Jam and Cream scones   VIDEO

  • 225g self - raisins flour
  • 70g g Butter
  • 30g  C sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • Milk to bind
  1. Sieve flour into bowl
  2. Add sugar and mix
  3. Add butter and mix by hand or machine until mixture looks like bread crumbs
  4. Add egg and mix with enough milk to bind to form a soft dough
  5. Roll/flatten out to around 3 quarters of and inch, cut scones out with a cutter,  wash the tops with  egg/milk  and bake gas mk 7 / 220c / 425f  for approx. 10/15 mins till cooked
  6. fill with jam and cream once cold
